Traveling Central Asia: Discover The Heart of Asia

Deserts, horses, nomads and shamans. Going back to the USSR, and being beamed into ancient customs traveling along the Silk Road – Central Asia has a lot to offer and has yet to be discovered by travelers. To most, Asia consists of countries like Japan, China, India and Thailand. The beauty of Central Asia and former Sovie Union remains unknown to many.

Countries with such enigmatic names as Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan await the adventurous traveler with hospitality and a culture which goes back for centuries. Admittedly, it is an off-path road to take but once you get on it, it takes you to incredible mountain landscapes, friendly people and extraordinary and always unexpected experiences. Since the tourist infrastructure is a new industry in this part of the world, Central Asia will not await with modern Spas but rather with a ready-to-discover-the-world attitude. Yes, be prepared to make an effort in order to get to know these countries but promise: you are not prepared for the hospitality of the locals.

Looking desperately for a hostel, you might find a shepherd instead who invites you to stay over night at his place. Be prepared for new adventures: Turkmenistan will surprise you with the stunning Caspian Sea and camels, Uzbekistan will take your breath away with its beautiful architecture and in Kazakhstan you will not be able to take your eyes away from the Tian Shan mountains. Travel further to Kyrgyzstan where you can meet nomads and experience with them their pure and simple life style. Your choices and adventures will be endless. If you only have a limited time to spend, it is best to make a theme choice such as the Silk Road. Don’t worry, you will definitely be back!
